Caution Avengers rant ahead

So as you may or may not know, I was gone for a while and had time to think and when I came back and scrolled through the tags I realized:

**I really detest the name stony

**I hate the way that 75% of fic portrays Tony as a whiny, self indulgent brat and Steve as an incompetent buffoon.

**I miss the fics that were in depth plots with believable characterization.

**I hate that I can no longer scroll the steve/tony, tony/steve or superhusband tags without having to hack my way machete style through screaming, squeeing fans who can’t see any further than ‘oh mi god, they are so cute together!’

**I miss the debates on the comics and the meta on the characters that doesn’t include superfamilies and making out in cars like seniors at a prom.

**I’m really tired of seeing art that someone has put sweat and tears into being blogged and not credited. Some of that stuff has been around for over a year before the damn movie came out and I know for a fact that it can be easily sourced.

Also:

Tony calls himself a genius for a reason. Whiny? Nope not seeing it. He learned at a very early age to rely on himself. Whining for something he wants? Not gonna happen. Go out and get it or build it? Definitely. Steve is a tactician,  a soldier who led men into battle. I’m fairly certain he can figure out how to use a cell phone or a microwave.

I ship them as hard as the next person but there’s shipping and there’s teenybopper, screaming and that is really getting to me lately. Civil War was not a “Steve and Tony break up” arc, it was a major event that fucked up the entire Marvel verse. read the damn thing if you plan to comment on it.  The scene in the movie where Tony and Steve are on the helicarrier deck is not ‘sexual tension’, it is them digging as deep into barely scabbed over wounds and striking as hard at each other as they possibly can without physically drawing blood.

Maybe the events of the last week and the time in the hospital got to me more than I thought but the Avengers are not some Twilight style type fandom crap. It is so much deeper and complex than the Steve and Tony feeding each other breakfast in bed and adopting babies bullshit that is clogging up the tags.
